Individual Therapy

Change is possible but sometimes we need help in seeing the path that will move us forward. A connection with a caring and skilled therapist can clear the obstacles and create meaningful change. My approach is warm, supportive, and collaborative. I will accompany you on your journey of self-exploration and help you find greater fulfillment in your life. My approach to therapy is integrative, drawing on different modalities to fit your unique needs. I draw primarily from Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Psychodynamic therapy, Mindfulness, and Internal Family Systems (IFS).

What is Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)?

When we experience a traumatic event, our brains may go “offline” to protect us from being overwhelmed. But sometimes the memories of these experiences can remain stuck in our nervous systems, and get reactivated when triggered by something that reminds us of the original memory. This can cause us to experience distress and negative emotions. EMDR is an effective form of psychotherapy that helps individuals process traumatic memories and reduce the symptoms of trauma. EMDR creates opportunities for accelerated learning by reprocessing the old memory with new and adaptive information. Learn more about EMDR.
